Save Time with E-mail Forwarders
You know you can create e-mail addresses
with your Globat.com Web hosting account, but
did you also know about e-mail forwarders?
Let's take a look at what they are and how
and why you should use them.
While having a "yourname@yourdomain.com"
e-mail address may look impressive, chances
are you already have a primary e-mail address
that you prefer using. If you want to enjoy
the convenience of checking
just one main e-mail box, create e-mail
forwarders instead of e-mail addresses.
A forwarder looks like a regular e-mail
address, meaning once you create it, you can
tell people to e-mail you at
"youremail@yourdomain.com." However, when
you set up a forwarder e-mail address, you
specify the true destination of the e-mails
you receive, such as to your company e-mail
address, Hotmail, Gmail, etc. By using
forwarders, all of your e-mails can be sent
to the same place. No need to
remember a variety of usernames and
passwords; simply check your e-mail as you
normally do and find all of your messages in 1
place!
You'll save time with forwarders by not
having to monitor many
different e-mail accounts, and you'll be able
to use your preferred e-mail interface, which
may allow you to automatically set up
rules to sort or label these incoming
e-mails.
If
you create e-mail forwarders to replace
normal e-mails you had previously created,
delete those normal e-mail accounts first.
Also note that if you respond to a forwarded
e-mail, it will be coming from the "real"
destination e-mail instead of the forwarded
e-mail. If you are worried about this, you
may want to set up a generic normal e-mail at
your domain, which you can use for sending
out responses.
